Our New York maintenance job in Westchester, NY has ended and we are back at home in Oakland, MS.
We are hoping to start up our next job in Texas come June, until then we are just enjoying being back home. We are currently staying at the Doral Arrowwood, Rye Brook, NY, working with Con-Ed, doing maintenance clean-up work from the effects of Hurricane Sandy, 6 days a week, 10hrs a day. If looking for work, we take calls out of Local 1249 when positions open up.
Brad McDill is the General Foreman, Rock Heidelberg, Melvin Guthrie, Van Ferguson, & Jimmy Allman are our working Foremans. Monday we welcome Dan Cronin to our team as the 5th Foreman on the job. Today we break for the holidays and will return for maintenance work, January 7th, 2013, in NY with Con-Ed. While on Storm we worked in New Hampshire with Unitil, Connecticut with Uinet, and in New York with Con-Ed.
We would like to thank our crews and our sub contractors crews for the time they put in away from their families to help restore power in the North East. We are proud to have been chosen to come back next year to continue to help restore power to this region. Left out for Fitchburg, MA bracing for the impact of Hurricane Sandy. Still could use a few more lineman.

Hurricane Isaac made landfall August 28th, 2012 in Louisiana, one day from the 7yr anniversary of Katrina. Not long after it made landfall, it pushed back into the gulf, before making landfall a second time. Isaac was taking its sweet time, moving 6ph, causing major flooding for Louisiana, and Mississippi. Isaac, now a tropical depression, continues to cause destruction as it moves northwest thru the country.
Our crews rode out the storm in the city of Plaquemine. They worked thru the storm before and as the eye passed over at 4:30pm. Plaquemine has a little of 12,000 customers, our crews helped restore 99% of the power within 12 hours. |
