In October 2024 during Hurricane Helene storm restorations, Michael Gray connected with Taylor O’Bar from O'Bar Electric. Recognizing the synergy between both our companies expertise in powerline infrastructure and innovative energy solutions, we joined forces to create even more efficient and sustainable power systems. This collaboration has enabled us to expand our capabilities throughout Texas and its surrounding states and offer comprehensive solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. Together, we're powering the future, one line at a time.
O’Bar Electric's journey began with a vision to provide reliable and efficient power infrastructure to communities across the nation. Founded in 2024 by Taylor O’Bar, they set out to address the growing need for robust and sustainable powerline systems. Their work began out of Azle, Texas, and together we will go as far as we can. At O’Bar Electric, they prioritize safety above all else, implementing rigorous standards to ensure the well-being of our team and the communities we serve. Our goal is to develop a reputation for excellence. We look forward to this merger and the opportunities it will bring in the years to come.

A Dream Years in the Making
Some dreams take time to ripen—years of quiet persistence before they burst into life. For Elite Technologies, LLC, that dream wasn’t just the vision of two young men—it was a family affair, nurtured by Michael Wendler and Jacob Chumley. Starting young in the satellite and cable industries, Michael and Jacob built a partnership that spanned many years, but their wives were there too, working with them, encouraging them, and speaking of Elite Technologies as a reality long before it took shape. By 2010, their paths converged in the satellite world, sparking a collaboration that would grow into a multi-million-dollar business. On June 1, 2022, that dream—first whispered in 2014 over renamed routers—became Elite Technologies, LLC, a legacy all partners now aim to leave for the next generation of our families. A Career High Worth Fighting For Michael and Jacob’s journey was forged over years in cable, satellite, CCTV, and networking. Starting young, they amassed a wealth of experience, tackling every challenge as a team. By January 11, 2021, they hit a turning point. Leaving their satellite jobs, they became fiber optic technicians for someone they’d met in the field. The work was electric—fast-paced, cutting-edge, and the most lucrative they’d ever known. They loved it, the money was a game-changer, and fiber optics felt like the future their families had long believed in. But as one project wound down, work started to dry up. They’d been dreaming of Elite Technologies since 2014—renaming routers, printing door magnets and business cards, talking it up with their wives—but now, the stakes were real. They weren’t about to let this peak slip away. They had the drive to make Elite Technologies real, a dream their families had cheered on for years, but they needed more to turn it into a legitimate contender A Partnership That Changed Everything That push came in May 2022, when Michael, Jacob, and Greg drove to Oakland, Mississippi, to meet Michael Gray and Brandon Kennedy. Gray and Kennedy were fiber optic veterans, armed with the backing and expertise to land major contracts directly—no middlemen, no limits. The five clicked instantly, and on June 1, 2022, they signed the partnership that brought Elite Technologies, LLC to life. What started as a family dream in 2014—a name on routers, a stack of business cards, a vision shared over dinner tables—became a powerhouse overnight. Gray and Kennedy weren’t just partners; they were game-changers. Their mentorship taught Michael and Jacob how to scale, bid on big jobs, and operate as a serious player. Gray and Kennedy’s industry savvy opened doors Michael and Jacob had only imagined since their early days. Together, they turned a scrappy, family-fueled vision into a company ready to compete at the top. From a Router to a Revolution What drives Elite Technologies isn’t just the thrill of the work or the financial wins—though both fueled those early days. It’s the mission: building fiber optic infrastructure that connects communities to the modern world, a legacy for the up-and-coming next generation of our families. That dream, born in 2014 over a renamed router, simmered through years of sweat and patience—from their young starts in the industry to their 2010 handshake to the 2022 signing. It took Michael and Jacob’s relentless passion, their wives’ encouragement and labor, and Gray and Kennedy’s mentorship to make it real. On June 1, 2022, when they all signed on, Elite Technologies, LLC stopped being a family’s hopeful talk and started being a shared inheritance. From two young techs to a multi-million-dollar business, every step built toward this. We’re not just here to lay cables—we’re here to change lives and leave something lasting, one connection at a time. And this is only the beginning. November 2021 kicked off the Pole Top Repair Project in Key West, repairing concrete and steel pole tops on 111 structures. Scott Sansone, Jody Cox, Tobin Sipp, Casey Pye, and Frederick Laboy are still doing an outstanding job with no major mishaps in completing the work. Due to the nature of the tropical environment, many of the structures are difficult to access and thus require a helicopter to enable the crew to make the necessary repairs. In addition to the 111 structures in the initial contract for Pole Top Repairs, we were awarded yet another opportunity to take on an added 300 structures for Keys Energy Services.
Our guys in the Keys suffered the terrible loss of their friend Ross Ansell-Phillips on April 3rd. Ross was a helicopter pilot for Ansell & Brown Aviation, a husband and a father. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. We received the sweetest thing in the mail today. Mrs. Albritton's students wrote our guys thank you letters for helping turn the power back on after the hurricane. 2017 was a great year and we closed it out with our annual Christmas party. Mr. Freddie captured the night for us and we wanted to share the pictures. Thanks again to all those that helped us make 2017 great! |
